Equine & Livery Health & Safety

Finding good staff is hard, protecting them less so. Whether you are responsible for health and safety in a riding school, livery stable, stud or racing stable you know well that horses are unpredictable. Good staff are difficult to find and increasingly they come from abroad, perhaps, with a different approach to safety or, often, speaking a foreign language.

The law treats them all with equal rights and the onus is on the employer to provide a safe working environment and information that they can easily understand. Increasingly we are asked to produce signage and documentation in foreign languages.

Managing situations like this doesn't need to be either complicated or bureaucratic. We advise on the necessary safety signs and documentation and, because it's what we do every day, we are used to training staff to adapt to a proactive health and safety culture.
